Open Window Growth Partners (Open Window) is a proudly South African 12J Venture Capital Company founded to take advantage of the substantial tax incentive provided for in section 12J of the Income Tax Act.

Our approach is to take a very positive view of South Africa and we believe that we can create opportunities to stimulate SME growth, and in so doing, creating jobs.

Our core aim is to generate strong long term returns for investors, whilst at the same time offering unique downside protection. Investment focus is on fast growing small & medium sized entities (SME’s) equity opportunities identified as having strong growth potential through equity capitalization and strategy enhancement.

Investment Philosophy

The following are key to our investment philosophy:

  • To maximise value creation for investors over the stipulated investment horizon for each investment;
  • To apply a minimum hurdle rate of 12% IRR to each investment over the investment timeline;
  • To invest in industries and opportunities where the Investment Committee has the knowledge and experience to provide oversight;
  • To focus on high-growth opportunities in South Africa;
  • To invest where we can provide a better customer service experience than the current industry norm;
  • To invest in sectors/areas where our investor network can help us to grow faster and reach more clients and customers.
